The 2011 North American Soccer League champion Minnesota Stars FC is in search of players for the 2012 season and have two opportunities for players interested in playing professionally to try out for the team. Please review the information on this page. If you are interested in participating in one of the tryouts, please fill out the form below to submit your contact information, and we will keep you posted with dates and other tryout information as it becomes available. Please note that phone calls to the Stars FC offices will be referred to this webpage, and messages left will not be returned. 2012 Local Combine Information
The 2012 Minnesota Stars FC local combine is complete. We believe the event was successful and will continue to hold tryouts for Minnesota based players in the future. For players in the Twin Cities still hoping to tryout for the team, please read on for information about the Invitational Combine in February.
2012 Invitational Combine Information
The 2012 Invitational Combine is a three-day, invite-only opportunity for both local and non-local players from February 21-23. An application is required. Coaches will review applications and contact references before sending out invitations.
Where: National Sports Center, 1700 105th Ave. NE; Blaine, MN 55449
When: 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., February 21 and 22, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. February 23.
Application deadline: Monday, January 23
Fees:
- Commuter: $200 – This includes up to five 90-minute games and lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
- Dorm-stay: $325 – This includes up to five 90-minute games, three nights in the NSC dorms complete with three meals a day and transportation to and from the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport.
Notes
- You must apply and be invited to participate in this tryout.
- Players will be invited no later than January 27.
- If invited to participate, you will receive more specific details regarding accommodations and tryouts.
- All players are required to bring their own gear, including cleats and shinguards.
2012 Grande Sports World Combine
In order to gain increased access to the Western United States and be accommodating for players who would struggle to make it to Minnesota for a tryout, Stars FC will hold a combine at Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, Ariz., from March 2-4. Grande Sports World will organize and conduct the combine with Minnesota Stars FC coaches present. The cost for the three-day tryout is $300 and includes accommodations and all meals. We will release more information in the days ahead.
