Minnesota Soccer History Night

The NSC Minnesota Stars will be hosting a Minnesota Soccer History Night presented by MYSA and Brick’s American Pub on Saturday, September 10. Celebrate the history of soccer in Minnesota and get the chance to meet your favorite former professional players by heading to Blaine for a night of fun.

The night will kick off at 6:00 p.m. with a Minnesota professional soccer alumni game on the exhibition field outside of the NSC Stadium. The game will feature former professional players from the Minnesota Kicks, Minnesota Strikers, Minnesota Thunder and Minnesota Stars. The match will last 60 minutes and the event is free for all to attend.

Alumni for Saturday night’s game will include players such as Chato Alverado, Dustin Branan, John Coughlin, Chris Foster, Tim Foster, Mike Gentile, Don Gramenz, Tod Herskovitz, Matt Holmes, Tamba Johnson, Serge Kasanezky, Victor Kasanezky, Gerard Lagos, Aaron Leventhal, Max Lipset, Mario Lone, John Lowery, Craig Mallace, Donny Mark, John Menk, Pierre Morice, Nick Pasquarello, Tony Pesznecker, John, Sylvester, Greg Wheaton, Alan Willey, Sasha Gotsmanov, Sergei Gotsmanov, CJ Peznecker and more.

After the alumni game the Minnesota Stars will face the Atlanta Silverbacks for their final regular season home game this year. The match starts at 7:30 p.m. at the NSC Stadium in Blaine. Show your support for Minnesota soccer by heading to the stadium to cheer on the Stars. The first 1000 fans will receive a Minnesota Soccer History Night poster. The Stars will also be raising money for the John Sylvester Healthcare Fund on Minnesota Soccer History Night. John ‘Sly’ Sylvester is a Minnesota Thunder alumni player who was recently diagnosed with ALS, or Lou Geherig’s Disease.
