Stars Announce July 22 Military Appreciation Night
Donors can donate tickets to send troops to match against Montreal
The NSC Minnesota Stars announced Wednesday that they will host a second annual Military Appreciation Night on July 22, when the club takes on the Major League Soccer bound Montreal Impact at NSC Stadium in Blaine, Minn. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. with festivities before and during the game.
As a way of showing the Stars’ appreciation for the military, the club is donating 100 tickets to various regional branches of the Armed Forces. Additionally, all military personnel and their families will receive a 50 percent discount when purchasing general admission tickets for this game online at NSCMinnesota.com. In addition, season ticket holders who would like to donate their tickets to local military personnel can do so by contacting the Stars’ ticket office at (763) 792-7355 or emailing tickets@nscminnesota.com.
Prior to kickoff, each branch of the United States Armed Forces —US Air Force, US Army, US Coast Guard, US Marines and US Navy— will be recognized. Additionally, 15 recruits from the US Army will take their Oath of Enrollment at half-time. A member of the military will perform the National Anthem prior to kickoff with the US flag presented by a military color guard.
The fun on Military Appreciation Night isn’t limited to the field at NSC Stadium. Children can have their faces painted with camouflage outside the stadium before the game and play on an inflatable obstacle course in the play area inside. The US Army will have a table on the stadium concourse to provide information to fans interested in learning about the US Armed Forces, and GI Johnnie, the Army’s inflatable mascot, will provide entertainment inside the stadium.
For more information about Military Appreciation Night, or to purchase tickets, please contact the Stars by calling (763) 792-7355 or by visiting www.nscminnesota.com.
